What the seller says
Seller states
Device powers on and displays normally but is passcode protected with unknown code. Activation Lock may prevent use even after reset without original Apple Account credentials.
Likely faults & repair cost
Account locked, not a repair. The seller indicates this device is activation, iCloud, MDM, or carrier locked. A locked device can be fully working and still cannot be resold as working, so the $168 spread does not apply. Treat it as parts only, and price it that way.
Repair costs are rough parts estimates, not a diagnosis of this exact unit. Confirm the fault and your repair path before you buy.
